Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated:
What you may and may not do with a SparkHost machine. This policy is part of our Terms of Service and applies to you and everyone you give access to.
1. Allowed
Lawful AI development, inference, fine-tuning, training, research, software development and general compute, including serving your own applications and APIs to your users.
2. Not allowed
- Content or activity that is illegal under Dutch or EU law, including child sexual abuse material, terrorist content and content that infringes intellectual-property rights.
- Attacks on other networks or systems: denial-of-service attacks, unauthorised access, scanning or probing of systems you don't own or have permission to test, and distributing malware.
- Sending spam or unsolicited bulk messages, and running open mail relays, open proxies or open resolvers that are used for abuse.
- Phishing, fraud, impersonation, or generating content intended to deceive or harass people.
- Violating export-control or sanctions laws.
- Cryptocurrency mining, unless agreed with us in writing.
- Anything that endangers our infrastructure, the data centre, other customers or third parties.
3. Security of your machine
You have root access and are responsible for securing your machine: keep software up to date, protect your SSH keys and credentials, and don't expose services unnecessarily. If your machine is compromised and causes harm, we may isolate it until it is fixed.
4. Reporting abuse
Report abuse originating from a SparkHost machine to support@sparkhost.ai with “Abuse” in the subject and as much detail as possible (IP address, time, logs).
5. Enforcement
If we receive a credible report or notice a breach of this policy, we contact you and ask you to stop it. We may suspend a machine immediately, without prior notice, where the breach is serious, urgent or ordered by an authority; otherwise we contact you first where reasonably possible. Repeated or serious breaches may lead to termination under the Terms of Service. We cooperate with competent authorities when the law requires it.
